'"More information needed": responding to a request for information (RFI)'
What an RFI is, what the form asks for, and how to answer it so the review can close.
Sometimes a verification review needs one more thing before it can close. Fuzopay calls this a request for information, or RFI. It is a routine part of financial compliance, not a sign that something is wrong with your account.
How you will know
Your account status changes to one of two things, and the difference matters:
| Status | What it means | Withdrawals |
|---|---|---|
| More information needed | Verification is not complete and cannot finish without your answer | Blocked |
| Verified — more information requested | You are already verified; a separate follow-up is open | Still work |
A banner appears at the top of Settings with a Continue button. The KYC status row carries a matching badge — Action needed, or Verified · info needed.
You will also receive a notification, since verification changes are compliance events.
What the form asks for
The form shows only the fields actually requested for your case, so you may see all of these or just one:
Source of funds
Where the money in your account comes from — salary, freelance or client income, business revenue, savings, or a sale. Choose the option that describes the majority of what you receive.
Occupation or business activity
What you do. Be specific: "freelance UX designer for overseas agencies" is a useful answer; "consultant" is not.
Supporting document
A file — PDF, JPG, or PNG — evidencing what you have described. Typically a recent payslip, an invoice, a contract, a bank statement, or a company registration document.
Supporting information
A free-text box for context that a form field cannot capture. Use it when your situation needs explaining — an unusual payment pattern, a recent change of country, a one-off large deposit.
How to submit
- Select Continue from the banner in Settings, or open the verification screen directly.
- Fill in every field shown. They submit together, not individually.
- Attach your document if one is requested. Select the upload area — it reads Upload a PDF, JPG, or PNG until a file is chosen.
- Select Submit complete response.
Important. The form notes: "Your response can only be submitted when every requested field is complete." A partial answer cannot be sent, so gather everything before you start.
Validation messages you may see
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Please complete every requested field before submitting. | One or more fields are empty. Scroll up — the incomplete ones are marked. |
| Select where these funds come from. | Choose an option for source of funds. |
| Let us know your occupation or business activity. | Describe what you do. |
| Upload a supporting document to continue. | Attach a PDF, JPG, or PNG. |
| Add a little more detail to support your application. | The free-text answer is too short to be useful. Expand it. |
After you submit
The screen confirms your response was received and explains what happens next:
What happens next. No further action is needed right now. You can continue to view your account.
And, while the review runs:
While your review is pending. You can view your account and receive funds. Some account actions remain unavailable until the review is complete.
Your status returns to Verification in progress while the review continues, then resolves. Nothing more is required from you unless we ask again.
Writing a good answer
The purpose of an RFI is to let a reviewer understand your account without guessing. Answers that close a review the first time tend to share four qualities.
Be specific. "Monthly retainer from two design agencies in Germany and Canada" tells a reviewer more in one line than three paragraphs of general description.
Match your documents. If you say your income is freelance client work, send an invoice or a contract — not a personal bank statement with no context.
Explain anything unusual before you are asked. A deposit far larger than your normal pattern, funds from a country you do not live in, or a recent change of circumstances are all worth a sentence in the supporting information box.
Send a readable file. The same photo rules as identity documents apply: flat, in frame, no glare, no crop, no filter. A blurred document restarts the round trip.
Tip. If you are unsure what a question is asking for, write to support@fuzopay.com before submitting. Asking first is faster than submitting an answer that has to come back to you.
Common questions
How long does the review take?
Typically the same as an initial verification — most finish within 1–2 business days. A round trip for a second document extends that.
Can I withdraw while an RFI is open?
Only if your status reads Verified — more information requested. If it reads More information needed, withdrawals stay blocked until the review closes.
Can I edit my answer after submitting?
No. The form submits once. If you realise something was wrong or missing, write to support@fuzopay.com with the correction rather than waiting for a second request.
Why was I asked when someone else was not?
Requests are triggered case by case, based on the information already available. It does not mean anything is suspected about your account.
Is my document stored securely?
Yes. Documents are handled under the same protections as your identity verification and are never shown publicly. See the Privacy Policy.
