Flexible Earn and Staking

The two ways to earn on an idle balance, and the one difference that matters most.

Earn puts an idle balance to work. There are two products, and the difference between them is not the rate — it is whether you can get your money back.

Before you begin

Identity verification must be approved. Until it is, the Earn page shows a Verify identity prompt instead of the products. See Identity verification, step by step.

Flexible Earn

Your balance earns at a CURRENT APY that can move over time, and you can see ACCRUED SO FAR as it adds up.

Nothing is locked. This is the default place for money you might need.

Staking

A fixed rate, held for a fixed term.

RATE FOR NEW STAKES The rate you get if you commit today
Term Fixed for 12 months — 365 days
TOTAL AT MATURITY Principal plus interest, shown before you commit

Before it starts, a confirmation screen — Confirm your 1-year lock — asks you to "Review the terms before you commit" and shows Locked for 365 days, the Rate fixed today, and Est. interest at maturity.

Warning. There is no early release and no exceptions. A stake cannot be broken, shortened, or withdrawn before its term ends — not by you, and not by support. Only commit money you will not need for a year.

The rate being fixed today cuts both ways: it protects you if rates fall, and it does not follow them up.

At maturity

Your principal returns automatically at maturity. Matured funds are released to your Flexible Earn balance, where they carry on earning at the flexible rate rather than sitting idle.

You do not have to be watching for the date.

Which to choose

Flexible Earn Staking
Rate Variable, moves over time Fixed at the moment you commit
Access Any time None for 365 days
Best for Money you may need Money you certainly will not

A reasonable pattern is to keep a working balance in Flexible Earn and stake only the surplus.
